Fire System Installer

This role involves configuring, installing, fitting, and maintaining various piping systems to ensure the smooth operation of those systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, install, and maintain piping and plumbing systems consisting of different materials, including pipes, pressure and vacuum gauges, pipeline filters, steam traps, and strainer valves.
- Consult blueprints, work orders, schematics, or instructions to create working procedures based on specifications.
- Collect equipment and materials needed for the job.
- Weld, cut, bend, thread, solder, and fit pipes.
- Attach pipes and piping systems to walls using brackets, bracket systems, or clamps, cutting or boring holes as necessary.
- Install various types of insulation and pipe covering, safely removing and disposing of old coverings according to hazardous waste procedures and EPA and OSHA requirements.
- Inspect pipes, testing for pressure and leaks, and report or resolve any problems.
- Coordinate with management to schedule machinery maintenance, repairs, and installation to minimize disruption to operations.
- Comply with applicable safety and building codes, regulations, and best practices.
- Maintain records, including safety logs and inspection details.
- Perform other duties assigned by management.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred; any vocational training is highly valued.
- Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
- Proficiency in using various tools, which may include blowtorches, saws, pipe benders, and welding torches.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Physical Demands:
- Prolonged periods of standing and stretching to install and repair pipes and pipe fittings.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Must possess visual acuity required to inspect piping systems and read plans or blueprints.
