The Pet Groomer is a key role within our team at Camp K9 Pet Resort & Day Camp, reporting directly to the General Manager. Our mission is to provide exceptional care and service to our furry friends and their owners, and we're looking for a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team.

A Day in the Life: As a Pet Groomer, you'll be responsible for ensuring that all pets in your care receive a professional-quality groom that meets or exceeds the client's request. This includes performing full grooms, simple baths, and touch-ups, as well as communicating with pet owners and documenting any health concerns. You'll work closely with our Resort Hosts to schedule appointments and ensure a smooth experience for our guests.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide a positive experience for pets during grooming, including compassion, gentleness, reassurance, safety, and comfort.
  • Ensure all guests are groomed or bathed to the parent's specifications, completing grooms/baths on time.
  • Work with Resort Hosts to schedule appointments, including setting up new clients in online software and discussing vaccination protocol.
  • Meet and greet clients to discuss grooming instructions, meet with clients or communicate after groom on results, and suggest added services.
  • Return phone calls and emails in a timely manner, growing your business by rescheduling appointments.
  • Ensure client satisfaction by resolving customer service issues within your capabilities.
  • Properly maintain all grooming tools, checking equipment regularly to ensure quality of grooms.
  • Promptly notify the manager if supplies are needed.
  • Maintain a sanitary and healthy environment by following the resort's standards of cleaning and disinfecting your workspace.
  • Clean and disinfect drying rooms daily and weekly, respectively.
  • Monitor guest's health while grooming or bathing, reporting any unusual concerns to the general manager and pet parent.
  • Ensure guests have water and a chance to 'go potty' if they'll be with you for over 2 hours.
  • Follow all standards of safety when handling guests, particularly aggressive guests and escape artists.
  • Pay attention to kennel tags and adhere to pricing guidelines.
  • Effectively communicate with pet care staff that guests are with you.
  • Adhere to procedures in identifying pets while they are with you.
  • Promptly give any laundry to pet care for cleaning.
  • Consult with other departments.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including holidays and weekends.
  • Ability to take direction well and apply it independently.
  • Ability to work in temperature extremes, work outside, or in distracting work environments.
  • Ability to tolerate being in close contact with various bodily fluids and to get dirty frequently.
  • Physically able to handle dogs of all sizes and to lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications for this Position:
  • Professional Grooming Certifications preferred but not required.
  • Two to four years professional grooming experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of individual breed standards and breed cuts.
  • Use of proper scissoring techniques.
