Postdoctoral Research Scholar

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Research Scholar to join our team at the University of California, Irvine. The successful candidate will work closely with our faculty members and research staff to contribute to the academic community by enhancing the research and education programs of the University.
Research ProjectsThe Postdoctoral Research Scholar will be involved in two exciting research projects:
- Project 1: Augmented Reality Technology for Learning Outcomes
This project aims to investigate the effectiveness of augmented reality technology in producing better learning outcomes. The scholar will work with our team to design and implement a study using ambulatory psychophysiological monitoring, self-reported emotional responses, and learning outcome data.
- Project 2: Psychosocial Factors and Stress during the COVID-19 Pandemic
This project focuses on understanding how psychosocial factors interact with stress and immune change during the current pandemic. The scholar will help launch and coordinate a longitudinal project to monitor psychological and physiological changes related to the ever-changing COVID-19 circumstances.
The primary responsibilities of the Postdoctoral Research Scholar will include:
- IRB preparation and oversight
- Data collection and analysis
- Co-authoring manuscripts with the investigators
To be eligible for this position, applicants must have a doctoral degree (e.g., PhD, MD, or foreign equivalent) in Psychology, Health Psychology, or a closely related field. The successful candidate will also have demonstrated statistical expertise in longitudinal analyses, experience collecting and analyzing complex biological variables, and a strong record of academic writing.
Desired QualificationsPreferred qualifications include a special interest in stress, emotion, and physiological function, as well as strong quantitative skills for analyzing longitudinal and multilevel data. Experience with psychophysiology, psychoneuroendocrinology, ecological momentary assessment, and/or ambulatory physiological assessments is also desirable.
