Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled CDL driver to join our team at the Mid-Ohio Food Collective. As a CDL driver, you will be responsible for transporting food donations from various sources to our warehouse and then to partner agencies in our 20-county service area.


Key Responsibilities
  • Drive a commercial motor vehicle to perform food pickups and deliveries.
  • Load and unload food donations from the truck at the warehouse and partner agencies.
  • Complete necessary documents and records associated with each pickup and delivery.
  • Inspect and maintain the assigned vehicle, including completing required USDOT vehicle inspection forms.
  • Transport the vehicle to and from repair shops as needed.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and electric jacks to load and unload the truck at the warehouse or pickup site.
  • Participate in special event projects as requested by the Transportation Manager.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Must possess a valid CDL and USDOT medical card.
  • At least one year of recent verifiable driving experience required.
  • No more than two moving violations in the past three years in any type of vehicle.
  • No DOT-defined accidents in the last three years in any type of vehicle.
  • Experience with food products and refrigerated freight preferred.
  • Experience operating forklifts and electric pallet jacks required.

Working Conditions

This is a safety-sensitive position due to regular interaction with heavy machinery. You must be able to work in a warehouse environment and in a commercial motor vehicle.


Physical Demands

This position requires moderate to heavy physical labor, including lifting up to 75 pounds occasionally and 30 pounds frequently. You must be able to stand, walk, lift, carry, and reach for extended periods of time. You may also be required to work in sub-freezing temperatures for extended periods.
