ROLE SUMMARY
The Family Preservation Therapist delivers community-based mental health support to individuals and families. Key responsibilities encompass providing therapeutic services in clients' homes, liaising with the juvenile justice system as necessary, leading treatment team discussions, and ensuring comprehensive documentation in compliance with relevant regulations.
*Caseload limited to 12 clients
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Therapeutic Services and Documentation
• Conduct initial family assessments alongside the Home Based Case Manager to formulate treatment strategies.
• Offer individual and family therapy while consistently meeting productivity and timeliness standards.
• Perform safety evaluations with families as required.
• Implement evidence-based treatment methods and maintain fidelity to established practices.
• Monitor clients for risk factors such as suicidal thoughts or self-harm, providing follow-up recommendations to the treatment team.
• Record client progress through case notes, treatment plans, monthly reports, court documentation, discharge planning, and other necessary clinical records.
• Engage in individual and group supervision, clinical presentations, and treatment team meetings as needed.
• Participate in an on-call system for crisis intervention to assess or re-evaluate client situations.
Collaboration and Consultation
• Maintain professional communication with parents, placing agents, and other service providers regarding treatment and discharge planning.
• Educate the treatment team on clinical matters, treatment progress, and available services.
• Actively contribute as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team to make informed decisions about client care.
PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS
• Uphold the Ethical Standards set by the American Psychological Association, American Counseling Association, and National Association of Social Workers.
• Maintain required licensure, certifications, continuing education, and Medicaid credentials.
• Exhibit sound clinical judgment and comply with HIPAA regulations.
• Follow organizational policies and compliance protocols.
Maintain a professional demeanor, demonstrating accountability, reliability, and appropriate attire.
EDUCATIONAL & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
A Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field. Must hold a valid Indiana license as an LHMCA, LMHC, LMFTA, LMFT, LSW, or LCSW; at minimum, an associate's license is required.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated understanding of cultural and socioeconomic diversity among clients, a commitment to fostering a nurturing family environment, and a belief in empowering individuals to resolve their own challenges. Ability to build respectful relationships with clients to help them develop skills and confidence while maintaining appropriate boundaries.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, totaling 40 hours per week. Additional hours may be required to complete special projects or meet deadlines. Professionalism and courtesy are expected at all times.
