Machine Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating an abrasive waterjet machine to manufacture precision components for custom electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Reliable individual with dependable transportation.
- Maintain excellent attendance.
- Adhere to personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
- Follow the primary operating procedures for the waterjet machine.
- Load materials onto the waterjet according to blueprints using equipment such as forklifts or vacuum lifts.
- Process various components according to the production schedule, including programming for job processing and part cutting.
- Set up the waterjet machine to ensure parts are cut within specified tolerances.
- Complete tasks efficiently and on schedule.
- Label parts accurately with relevant information (part number, job number, job name, and purchase order).
- Deburr, clean, and dry finished parts.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on the waterjet machine as specified by the manufacturer.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Document machine maintenance activities throughout each shift.
- Complete daily machine checklists.
- Consistently follow safety practices and work in a safe manner.
- Organize materials for efficient project transitions.
- Conduct general clean-up of the work area.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a forklift operator license (training provided).
- Capable of lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Apply basic math skills, including fractions and decimals, to work tasks.
- Exhibit strong communication skills.
- Maintain awareness of cutting conditions and surroundings.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Manage time efficiently.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Entry Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with basic inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, tape measures, etc.).
- Willingness to obtain a lift truck operator's license (training provided).
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree in a relevant field.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software.
- Knowledge of internet and intranet technologies.
- Prior experience operating abrasive waterjet or CNC machines in a manufacturing setting.
- Advanced understanding of materials and processes in abrasive waterjet machining.
- Familiarity with OMAX waterjet machines and software is advantageous.
