About the Role

We are seeking an Experimental Quantum Research Physicist to join our team at APL. As a member of our team, you will contribute to research that tests numerical models against real-world experimental results.

  • You will propose and lead independent research projects focused on novel quantum devices, controls, or characterization techniques.
  • You will work collaboratively with other APL staff to identify emerging challenges with quantum solutions.
  • You will support ongoing programs in quantum information science by making immediate contributions to efforts that implement quantum characterization, control, and mitigation strategies in superconducting qubit systems.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have a PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field, as well as 1+ years of post-doctoral experimental experience with qubit systems. You must also have excellent written and verbal communication skills, a proven record of research accomplishments and publications in the field of quantum science, and the ability to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by your start date.
