Job Title: Medical Assistant/Receptionist

A leader in our field, Heartland Women's Healthcare of Advantia is a growing OB/GYN practice throughout Southern Illinois and Missouri. We are seeking a part-time Medical Assistant/Receptionist to join our Wentzville/Lake St. Louis team.


About the Role:

As a Medical Assistant/Receptionist, you will provide administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of our medical office. Your responsibilities will include greeting and checking in patients, answering questions, collecting patient co-pays, processing paperwork, and scheduling appointments. You will also assist with maintaining patient records and ensuring our office provides a welcoming environment for our patients.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet patients and other visitors in a prompt, courteous, and helpful manner.
  • Schedule appointments in person or by telephone to optimize patient satisfaction and provider time.
  • Ensure patient appointments are on schedule by notifying providers of patient arrival and reviewing service delivery compared to schedule.
  • Maintain patient records by filing and retrieving documents.
  • Update patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
  • Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments.
  • Protect patient confidentiality by maintaining the confidentiality of personal and financial information.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Qualifications:
  • Proven working experience as a medical assistant or medical secretary in a clinic setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize work.
  • Social perceptiveness and service-oriented.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
