We are seeking highly skilled Laborists to join our team at Axia Women's Health, a leading provider of women's health services in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. As a Laborist, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality care to our patients, working closely with our team of OB-GYN physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:- Labor and Delivery Management: Monitor and assess pregnant women in labor, make decisions regarding the timing and method of delivery, and provide emotional support to the mother and her family.
- Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough physical examinations of pregnant patients, review medical histories and prenatal records, and order and interpret diagnostic tests.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care, communicate effectively with the patient's primary OB-GYN, and provide updates on the progress of labor.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed and accurate records of patient assessments, interventions, and progress during labor, and complete birth certificates and other required documentation.
- Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to obstetric emergencies, such as fetal distress, placental abruption, or maternal hemorrhage.
- Medical degree (MD or DO) with board certification in obstetrics and gynecology.
- Current state medical license and ability to obtain necessary hospital privileges.
- Strong clinical skills in obstetrics and gynecology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and make quick decisions in high-stress situations.
