Position Overview:
The Electrical Assembler is responsible for operating machinery and executing manual soldering and assembly tasks necessary for constructing and evaluating electrical coil assemblies according to client specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and set up both manual and automated coil winding machinery.
- Prepare and solder coil and PCB assemblies.
- Set up and operate manual and semi-automated wire stripping equipment.
- Manage the operation of a Thermal Chamber, RF Pre-heater, and Transfer Molding Press.
- Encapsulate coil assemblies using two-part epoxy.
- Conduct manual trimming, cleaning, and inspection of finished assemblies.
- Perform dielectric and resistance testing utilizing standalone or semi-automated systems.
- Install and test crimp connectors.
- Identify and report quality concerns.
- Complete all job-related documentation accurately and promptly, including logging necessary information in the ERP system.
- Maintain cleanliness in assigned work areas and engage in lean initiatives.
- Read and comprehend technical drawings, work instructions, and relevant specifications.
- Review all procedures related to the position as outlined in the training matrix.
- Complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Able to read and interpret various instruments, including meters and gauges.
- Experience or certification in soldering to IPC J-STD-001 with the Space Addendum, IPC-A-610, and IPC/WHMA-A-620 Modules 1 and 2 is preferred; training may be provided for qualified candidates.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Strong attention to detail, as the products manufactured are aerospace-related, necessitating high quality and compliance at all production stages.
- Well-organized with effective verbal communication skills.
Work Environment:
- This role involves exposure to manufacturing areas where personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toed shoes is mandatory.
- Typical ambient temperatures and standard plant lighting are present throughout the facility.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit or stand as necessary.
- Walking primarily on level surfaces for various periods throughout the day.
- Reaching above shoulder height, below the waist, or lifting as required to access documents or store materials.
- Proper lifting techniques are essential.
- Comfortable working in confined spaces while adhering to safety protocols.
- Capability to meet the physical demands of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
