Brinda apoyo general para el ensamblaje, ajuste, soldadura, conformado o operación de máquinas. Inspecciona el trabajo completado para asegurar la conformidad con las especificaciones.

Funciones y Responsabilidades

· Adquiere materiales, piezas, suministros y equipos siguiendo las políticas y procedimientos de compra establecidos, optimizando precio, entrega y términos. Busca activamente mejoras y coordina con las partes afectadas para implementar oportunidades de mejora.

· Puede recibir capacitación para realizar funciones de grabado, recorte, lijado, pulido, perforación, punzonado, dimensionado y desbarbado a partir de instrucciones utilizando herramientas manuales y eléctricas como amoladoras, sierras de cinta, sierras de corte, cizallas, pulidoras y lijadoras de banda.

· También puede limpiar piezas metálicas utilizando una variedad de procesos como limpieza manual, lavado con solventes y limpieza química alcalina/caustica. Puede ser necesario obtener certificados aplicables para la limpieza.

· Detectar y reportar operaciones defectuosas.

· Verificar dimensiones prescritas en plantillas, fijaciones o con calibradores, micrómetros, gages de altura y otros dispositivos de inspección.

· Seguir instrucciones escritas y bocetos.

· Realizar todo el trabajo de acuerdo con los estándares establecidos y procedimientos de seguridad.

· Puede capacitar a otros en la experiencia laboral.

· Trabajar bajo supervisión directa.

· Requiere un conocimiento general de varios medios y granos abrasivos, así como un nivel de habilidad demostrado para eliminar rebabas de bordes y esquinas a una forma consistente sin causar daños excesivos.

· Capacidad para leer y comprender precauciones, criterios de seguridad y proporciones de mezcla.

· Comprensión básica de las operaciones de planificación de manufactura y bocetos.

· Sabe cuándo detenerse y pedir aclaraciones.

· Debe ser capaz de utilizar matemáticas relevantes para funciones de soporte en el taller.

· Requiere la capacidad de aprender el uso de herramientas de máquina e instrumentos de precisión.

· También requiere buena destreza manual.

Condiciones de Trabajo

Demostrar la operación adecuada y segura del equipo, así como el uso de equipo de protección personal, incluyendo, pero no limitado a, gafas de seguridad/escudo facial, protección auditiva, prendas de cuerpo reflectantes al calor y guantes según sea necesario.
