Position Summary:
The role of the Buyer for Men's Apparel involves strategic planning and execution of purchasing decisions regarding style, quantity, and quality of merchandise. This is done in alignment with customer preferences, market dynamics, brand vision, and financial responsibilities. The Buyer will ensure optimal sales performance and gross margin achievement while effectively managing inventory levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement SKU assortment strategies and final purchase decisions that align with brand objectives and financial goals for sales, margin, inventory, and turnover across various channels.
- Collaborate with the Merchandising team to refine assortment strategies through market analysis and product reviews.
- Prepare detailed seasonal buying plans by channel, ensuring alignment with sales forecasts and inventory targets.
- Create comprehensive buy presentation documents for executive review, highlighting product strategies, key investments, and financial overviews.
- Work closely with ECOM and Marketing teams to optimize online merchandising and promotional strategies.
- Manage inventory allocation across retail channels in partnership with Planning & Allocation to maximize return on investment.
- Analyze sales performance and adjust markdown and promotional strategies to enhance sales and margin outcomes.
- Evaluate store performance based on product success and maintain effective communication with store teams.
- Compile weekly business reports summarizing product performance, including best and worst sellers, with actionable insights.
- Support the development and training of the buying team to enhance overall performance.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in buying, with a minimum of 1-2 years at an associate level.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Google Analytics, and other relevant retail applications.
- Strong analytical abilities and multitasking skills are essential.
- Ability to create detailed analytical and visual documents.
- Proven leadership skills to coach and develop team members.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Detail-oriented with a strong understanding of retail mathematics.
- Willingness to travel internationally as required.
