Position Overview

La Peer Pediatrics is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to enhance our pediatric team. This role encompasses a blend of administrative responsibilities and clinical tasks, ensuring the efficient functioning of our healthcare facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently manage administrative functions
  • Assist medical personnel with various clinical procedures
  • Accurately record vital signs, including pulse rate, blood pressure, weight, height, head circumference, hearing, and vision
  • Prepare examination areas, organize equipment, and ensure instruments are sanitized
  • Support healthcare providers during treatments, procedures, and examinations
  • Monitor and replenish medical supplies in examination rooms
  • Assist in overseeing immunization inventory
  • Administer injections, perform blood draws, and collect specimens
  • Adhere to schedules as outlined by the Clinic Manager
  • Availability required for one Saturday every five weeks from 9 am to 12 noon
  • Prior supervisory experience is a plus

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED is essential
  • Completion of an accredited medical assistance program
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
  • Comprehensive understanding of medical procedures, administrative protocols, and organizational policies
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • A minimum of three years of experience in a pediatric setting
