Job Summary:

Fast Pace Health is seeking a highly skilled Dermatology Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support in our growing team. The ideal candidate will be committed to delivering exceptional patient care and experience in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Triage patients by checking and recording vitals, collecting and recording pertinent clinical history, and other necessary information for proper charting.
  • Assist Dermatology Providers in patient assessments and examinations.
  • Prepare examination rooms and sterilize equipment using an autoclave.
  • Educate patients on proper skin care, medication application, and post-procedure care.
  • Assist with dermatological procedures, including biopsies, excisions, and cryotherapy.
  • Perform lab testing and phlebotomy, handle and label specimens for laboratory and pathology testing.
  • Perform wound care and suture removal as needed.
  • Administer phototherapy treatments and/or assist with phototherapy setup.
  • Ensure patient comfort and confidentiality during procedures.

Administrative Duties:

  • Verify insurance coverage, obtain authorizations, and schedule referrals.
  • Maintain and update patient records.
  • Prepare and organize patient charts for upcoming appointments.
  • Schedule patient appointments and manage the appointment calendar.
  • May perform as a Scribe as needed.
  • Assist providers with conducting proper patient follow-ups, including follow-up calls within 1-2 days of treatment, respond to messages within the same day of receipt.
  • Answer phone calls, address patient inquiries, and triage urgent messages to dermatology providers.
  • Manage inventory, order medical supplies and medications as needed.
  • Cross-promote all areas of Practice, including services for facial rejuvenation, injectables, peels, microdermabrasion, and facials, in addition to other services that may be added to the service menu.
  • Maintain dermatology knowledge to promote and sell services.

Requirements:

  • 1+ year of experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinic setting, preferably in a Dermatology office.
