About the Role

Job Summary

We are looking for a seasoned project engineer who can lead civil engineering design projects and provide direction to our civil design teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to be client-facing and develop relationships in the marketplace. This is an opportunity to work in a collaborative environment and be supported by a full suite of engineering and environmental services lines.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, administer, and design civil engineering projects
  • Coordinate project needs and deliverables with other PBS discipline leads and business units
  • Estimate and budget labor hours for design projects; review job costing reports
  • Provide leadership in efficient and constructable design of civil projects
  • Establish and maintain client relationships; ensure client satisfaction and ensure that client objectives are met
  • Participate in business development opportunities
  • Participate in professional organizations and functions
  • Manage design staff as lead engineer on project tasks
  • Mentor young professionals
  • Manage project financials and billings for projects
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering and professional registration in Washington and/or Oregon
  • 7-10 years' experience as a consulting engineer providing design and project management of land development and municipal projects
  • Solid understanding of civil design and construction standards, and environmental conditions/constraints
  • Proven history of meeting project deadlines and budgets
  • Familiarity with local code requirements
  • Flexibility and creativity in engineering approaches
  • Proficient skills in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, hydrology modeling, and MS software applications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with clients, staff, and management
