About Our Supported Employment Program:

  • This initiative assists individuals in securing employment and developing the necessary skills for success.
  • An employment support specialist will offer guidance and training to help individuals navigate job responsibilities and understand workplace policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support individuals in their workplace to successfully complete tasks.
  • Assist individuals in adapting to workplace culture and comprehending company policies.
  • Provide hands-on training, observation, and assessment of the individual's job performance to facilitate improvement.
  • Establish relationships with workplace supervisors to gather feedback on individual performance and foster an environment conducive to success.
  • Utilize BuildAbility's digital platform to document the individual's progress and achievements.

Work Schedule:

  • Part-time hours
  • Afternoons, Monday to Friday
  • Weekend availability
  • Assigned hours may vary weekly based on availability

Compensation Details:

  • Starting pay between $18.00 and $21.00/hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications:

  • Essential Qualifications:
  • Positive attitude with the ability to provide encouraging feedback regularly.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the capacity to engage with individuals with disabilities, their families, employers, and others constructively.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must pass a DOJ Live Scan fingerprinting background check.
  • Valid California Driver's License, reliable transportation, and proof of automobile insurance.
  • Willingness to travel: 75% - 100%.
  • Proof of full vaccination or a request for accommodation based on medical conditions or deeply held religious beliefs.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Fluency in Spanish.
  • Previous experience supporting individuals with disabilities is advantageous. However, we provide on-the-job training for those without prior experience.
