Key Responsibilities
  • Personal Care: Provide personal care to patients in their homes, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Assistance with Mobility: Assist with mobility and transfers, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients.
  • Medication Administration: Administer medications as directed by healthcare professionals.
  • Vital Sign Monitoring: Monitor vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate medical personnel.
  • Emotional Support: Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families.
  • Environmental Maintenance: Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.
Requirements
  • Certification: Certified Personal Care Assistant (PCA) or Certified Home Health Aide (HHA)
  • Understanding of HIPAA: Understanding of HIPAA regulations and the importance of patient confidentiality.
  • Cooking and Housekeeping: Ability to cook simple meals and perform light housekeeping duties as needed.
  • Education and Training: Satisfactory completion of New York State Health Department-approved HHA Training Program or equivalency
  • Literacy and Arithmetic: Demonstrated adequate literacy and simple arithmetic skills
  • Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years old
