The Paramedic Supervisor - Medical Transport Team Lead is responsible for ensuring that emergency and non-emergency patient transportation and associated communication are performed professionally and efficiently. This role involves supervising a team of medical transport staff, monitoring daily transportation status, and implementing measures to promote teamwork and a positive work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Receives and schedules all requests for patient transportation, ensuring timely and safe transportation.
- Monitors daily transportation status, including asset accountability and patient length of stay.
- Supervises staff, including onboarding new employees and addressing variances in departmental policies and procedures.
- Responds to emergent situations, such as ambulance diversion and code triage.
- Facilitates early administrative notification of variances and monitors compliance with departmental policies and directives.
- Provides initial investigation of variances and assesses employee relations, rewarding and recognizing staff who exemplify departmental expectations.
- Responds immediately to internal and external customer concerns.
- Oversees the pre-hospital direction of inbound ambulances, ensuring destination decisions are consistent with campus capability and capacity.
- Georgia Licensed Paramedic.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Five (5) years full-time EMS experience.
- Experience or training in supervision or leadership.
- Experience in medical transport or emergency medical services.
- Knowledge of patient transportation logistics for a multi-campus system.
- Clear understanding of the Medicare definition of medical necessity as it relates to ambulance service.
- Weight Lifted: Up to 100 lbs, Occasionally 0-30% of time.
- Weight Carried: Up to 100 lbs, Occasionally 0-30% of time.
- Vision: Heavy, Constantly 66-100% of time.
- Kneeling/Stooping/Bending: Occasionally 0-30%.
- Standing/Walking: Frequently 31-65%.
- Pushing/Pulling: Occasionally 0-30%.
- Intensity of Work: Frequently 31-65%.
- Job Requires: Reading, Writing, Reasoning, Talking, Keyboarding, Driving.
