Our Pharmacy Technician Training Program is recognized by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) and the Department of Labor. This program provides a comprehensive training experience, guiding you in taking steps towards becoming a Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Certified Pharmacy Technician.

As a Pharmacy Technician at Walgreens, you will be responsible for:

  • Assisting pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy, under direct supervision
  • Processing prescriptions, including retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs
  • Verifying medicine is correct and checking for possible interactions
  • Providing exceptional customer service, including greeting customers and offering assistance with products and services
  • Developing strong relationships with most valuable customers
  • Performing duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager

Job Requirements:

  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico)
  • Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment
  • Prefer prior work experience with Walgreens
  • Prefer good math skills for accurate prescription filling
  • Prefer good computer skills
  • Prefer knowledge of store inventory control
  • Prefer PTCB certification
