PRIMARY FUNCTION
Oversee and direct field project(s) management.

TYPICAL DUTIES

  • Organize, plan, and assist in staffing critical field roles.
  • Set project goals, policies, procedures, and performance metrics within the framework of corporate and divisional guidelines.
  • Establish and maintain communication with primary clients and architectural/engineering contacts to support construction efforts.
  • Supervise construction activities through administrative oversight of on-site management to ensure timely and budget-compliant project delivery. Address significant issues and implement necessary corrective actions.
  • Represent the organization in strategic meetings, budget discussions, and other key gatherings.
  • Oversee financial elements of contracts (payment processing, equipment rentals, income/expenses, etc.) to safeguard the company’s interests while fostering positive client relationships.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to secure materials and equipment.
  • Execute engineering responsibilities that involve standard practices and address minor technical challenges during construction.
  • Conduct job planning, estimation, and scheduling.
  • Review and manage submissions, subcontracts, change orders, payment requests, requests for information, etc.
  • Take on additional duties as assigned by the Division Manager.
MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Education and experience requirements include:

A four-year degree in engineering or a related field, or substantial (five or more years) experience/knowledge in construction, design, finance, and management is required.

Must effectively apply innovative management strategies to enhance employee performance through a comprehensive understanding of corporate and industry standards, practices, and processes.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills (including tact, diplomacy, and influence) are crucial. A business-oriented mindset is essential. Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications is necessary.

A strong work ethic is required to ensure tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards.

Must be capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team. Must have the ability to access all areas of a construction site in diverse climates and environments. Willingness to travel as needed. Familiarity with MSDS and basic OSHA knowledge is required, along with the ability to comprehend the Sletten Safety Policy.

COMMENTS
This role reports to the Division Manager and involves making decisions and recommendations that significantly influence corporate-client relationships and project profitability.

SUGGESTED SKILLS
Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Word, P6 Scheduling, PowerPoint, Procore, Vista, and email communication.
Skills in Contract Negotiation, Letter Writing, Telephone Communication, Estimating, and Scheduling.
Knowledge in Budgeting & Cost Accounting, Safety, Environmental, and EEO Regulations.
Time Management, File Management, and Public Speaking/Interviewing skills are also beneficial.
