Responsibilities
  • Determine specimen acceptability according to established criteria
  • Perform technical procedures and functions according to departmental SOPs
  • Monitor and operate instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
  • Makes technical decisions regarding testing and problem-solving
  • Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls
  • Report accurate and timely test results for quality patient care

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or meet local regulatory requirements
  • Florida State Medical Technologist (MT) license is required
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical laboratory testing experience with human specimens or an MLS degree
  • ASCP, AMT, or ABB certification is preferred
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus
  • High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
  • Must pass a standardized color vision screen
  • Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
