Job Summary:

As a Trailer Painter II at Trail King Industries, you will be responsible for preparing and finishing metal surfaces of trailers in preparation for the painting process. This includes applying paint to trailer surfaces and training in these processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Follow surface preparation specifications on trailers and accessories.
  • Use blasting equipment to remove rust, carbon, mill scale, and weld spatter.
  • Apply primer and topcoat to trailers.
  • Repair paint on trailers.
  • Inspect own work and trainee's work.
  • Operate overhead crane in a safe manner.
  • Monitor supplies needed in area and update supervisor as necessary.

Requirements:
  • Must be proficient in shop floor computer operating systems.
  • Must have achieved most Painter I skills.
  • Ability to work up to a 12 hour shift.
  • Ability to fluctuate hours to accommodate needs.

Work Environment:

While performing duties of job, employee is required to: stand, kneel, walk, sit, climb, bend, and twist; use hands to finger, handle and feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.

Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to changes in temperature and humidity, exposure to dust, fumes and is near moving machinery.
