Key Responsibilities:
1. Design and create costumes for OSF's live or digital productions by:
a. Collaborating with Lead Drapers, Lead Craft/Dyers, and other team members.
b. Constructing and modifying garments, accessories, and props.
c. Developing prototypes and samples as required.
d. Preparing fabrics and garments according to project specifications.
2. Work on multi-disciplinary elements, integrating costume design with other production aspects.
3. Uphold OSF's mission and values by:
a. Fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment.
b. Promoting a safe and respectful workplace.
c. Addressing and mitigating micro-aggressions and othering behaviors.
4. Comply with the OSF Company Handbook, safety protocols, and departmental guidelines.
5. Maintain and organize costume shop spaces, ensuring cleanliness and orderliness.
6. Clean garments and accessories as needed, utilizing appropriate sanitization methods.
7. Assist in restocking and organizing costumes and accessories post-production.
8. Attend all relevant meetings and safety training sessions.
Additional Responsibilities:
9. Support Costume Rentals and perform necessary repairs.
10. Cut fabrics and materials as directed.
11. Assist Lead Drapers and Lead Craft/Dyers as needed.
12. Monitor and replenish inventory of shop supplies.
13. Facilitate the transportation of supplies as required.
14. Undertake other tasks as assigned by costume department management.
Supervision:
Reports to the Costume Director, Costume Supervisor, and Costume Project Managers.
Experience Required:
A minimum of one year of experience in costume construction is preferred.
Qualifications and Skills:
Willingness to learn and follow instructions. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to adapt to challenges and changes. Knowledge of respectful language regarding body types, hair textures, and skin tones. Proficiency in handling various fabrics and using industrial sewing machines. Familiarity with craft and dye materials. Adherence to safety standards in production environments. Competence in Microsoft Office applications and cloud-based systems.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 30 pounds, climb stairs, and maintain prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
Other Skills:
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Capacity to adapt to last-minute changes. Confidentiality is essential. Standard work hours are Tuesday to Saturday, with flexibility for overtime as needed.

Hourly Rate: $24.41 USD Non-Exempt
