Job Summary

A seasoned expert in flavors and ingredients design is sought to lead and coordinate project executions for larger teams. This individual will ensure all resources are in place to maximize project execution, develop direct reports through training programs, coaching, and leading by example.

Description/Responsibilities:
  • High-level knowledge of recipe, ingredients, raw materials, and their functions.
  • Proficiency in IFF's data management systems (SAP, IFFman, Catalyst, GIAS, and other relevant systems).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills to provide effective solutions.
  • Good knowledge of flavor and ingredients legislation in the region.
  • Able to identify and gather technical and other resources, such as sensory team support, to aid customer projects.
  • Strong ability to manage high-potential value projects to avoid pitfalls and eliminate roadblocks.
  • Strong ability to link customer needs to IFF's capabilities and technologies, identifying flavor and texture opportunities with customers and providing feedback internally on product gaps in our portfolio.
  • Promotes, participates in, and supports Category-aligned initiatives, contributing to the strategy of local execution and positioning with customers.
  • Strong understanding of IFF's product portfolio and technologies, able to articulate relevant advantages to customers, and provide and contribute to the development of IFF's tools.
  • Fosters the use of new materials and technologies from the Innovation programs, gathering critical feedback from the team for continuous refinement.
  • Comfortable leading customer working sessions, with a strong ability to listen to customers and deliver on their expectations.
  • Able to translate customer needs and communicate within and outside functions to build optimal Product Design.
  • Works to build customer networks through customer interactions at product trainings, working sessions, presentations, and industry events.
  • Collaborates with commercial partners to develop strategies to better serve customer needs.
  • Demonstrates IFF's technology and innovation to customers with confidence.
  • Understands local vision for growth and competitive landscape.
  • Able to solicit input and ideas from customers and translate those into possible technologies for IFF pipeline development.
  • Execution of teams' development plans using SMART objectives and personal alignment with Category and business objectives.
  • Proven ability to develop people, being a good coach, listener, providing constructive feedback, and willing to mentor others within the organization.
  • Provides challenging tasks and assignments, fosters an open and inviting environment.
  • Is an inclusive leader, understanding different points of view and requesting feedback from others, embracing diversity in people and thinking.
  • Able to attract, develop, engage, and retain talent. Strong ability to work well with others and resolve conflicts.
  • Set priorities for the team, guide, and eliminate potential pitfalls and roadblocks to ensure successful and timely execution.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in the food, pharmaceutical, ingredient, or flavor industry.
  • 2 or 3 years' exposure to interdepartmental cross-functional team roles (leader, participant, manager, etc.).
  • 2 years in people leadership roles.
  • 5 years in the specific field of expertise.
  • BS degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Science, or related disciplines.
  • Pass IFF internal sensory test.
