We are seeking a highly skilled Inpatient Psychiatrist to join our team at the Southern Arizona VA Healthcare System in Tucson, Arizona. As a member of our interdisciplinary care team, you will provide psychiatric care to Veterans with mental health and substance use disorders.
Responsibilities- Provide psychiatric care, including diagnosis, treatment, and crisis management, to Veterans on the inpatient unit.
- Collaborate with a team of psychiatric providers, psychologists, social workers, nurses, and clinical pharmacists to deliver comprehensive care.
- Participate in teaching and supervising Psychiatry Residents and Medical Students in the inpatient psychiatric unit.
- Learn and become certified in the provision of ECT and other neuromodulation techniques.
- Board certification in psychiatry.
- Experience working in in-patient units.
- Active and unrestricted license in any of the US States.
- Competitive salary + annual performance bonus + regular salary increases.
- 50–55 days of annual paid-time off per year.
- Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401k with up to 5% in contributions by VA.
- Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care insurance.
- Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement for CME.
The Southern Arizona VA Health Care System is a Joint Commission-accredited, level 1a complexity teaching hospital, providing tertiary-level care. Our 150-acre campus offers a full range of medical and mental health services for Veterans, including inpatient psychiatry/substance use acute treatment units and intensive outpatient programs for SUD and PTSD treatment.
