Job Title: Licensed Addiction Specialist Occupational

Elwyn Adult Behavioral Health Services is seeking a highly skilled Licensed Addiction Specialist Occupational to join our team. As a key member of our Integrated Team, you will play a vital role in providing addictions rehabilitation, individual/group counseling, and staff resource education in a therapeutic setting.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with individuals to understand how addictive behavior impacts their lives, developing interventions that address the level of use and potential risk. You will facilitate dual diagnosis treatment groups, focusing on education/motivation, relapse prevention, and evidence-based practices. Additionally, you will assess mental health status, safety, and potential medication contraindications, coordinating substance abuse services and serving as a liaison with other treatment facilities upon discharge.

Responsibilities:
  • Work as part of the Integrated Team to ensure individual care is coordinated with MA Behavioral Health Community Partners, One Care, and DMH Case Managers.
  • Integrate the PRISM Model into daily clinical approaches/interventions.
  • Complete Substance Abuse Assessments for all individuals, as indicated.
  • Develop interventions that address the level of use and potential risk, the current impact of addictive behavior, and the individual's readiness for change.
  • Facilitate dual diagnosis treatment groups on an as-needed basis, focusing on education/motivation, relapse prevention, and evidence-based practices.
  • Assess mental health status, safety, and potential medication contraindications.
  • Coordinate substance abuse services and serve as a liaison with other treatment facilities upon discharge.
  • Complete clinical documentation in accordance with FHR Policy/Procedures, Funder Regulations, and CARF Requirements within established timeframes.
  • Proactively and preventatively apply principles of non-violent crisis intervention in all situations.
  • Actively participate in supervision and team/organizational performance improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Licensed Substance Abuse Counselor (LADC) required.
  • One or more years of experience in providing support to individuals with serious and persistent mental illness desired.
  • Preference will be given to multi-lingual candidates who meet the cultural and linguistic needs of the population served.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage and prioritize multiple, often competing, priorities.
  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated excellent judgment with the ability to independently solve problems and make decisions with little or no need for direct supervision.
  • Must be able to perform CPR using agency-trained protocols.
  • Must possess excellent customer interaction, collaboration, presentation, and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have a current, valid driver's license in the state of residence, three years of driving experience in the United States, and an acceptable driving record.
