NICET II Construction Inspector

We are seeking a highly skilled NICET II Construction Inspector to join our team at The Vertex Companies. As a Construction Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of our construction projects.

• Project Inspection: Conduct on-site construction inspections to ensure that work is performed in accordance with contract documents and applicable regulations.
• Compliance Monitoring: Verify that projects meet compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and Local rules and regulations, as well as client contract provisions.
• Schedule Management: Monitor and adhere to project schedules to ensure timely completion.
• Work Progress Monitoring: Inspect and monitor work progress on-site to ensure that it meets quality and safety standards.
• Documentation: Maintain a daily job diary documenting work performed, labor and equipment usage, and other pertinent details.
• Photographic Documentation: Provide photographic documentation of work in progress, including any unforeseen conditions, disputed work, or deficiencies.
• Workforce Management: Ensure that the construction contractor workforce is sufficient and that work is being executed in strict compliance with contract documents.

• Education: Associate's degree program in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Certification: NICET level II certification is strongly preferred.
• Experience: 1+ years of professional construction inspection experience, including experience with work zone traffic control.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills in English.
• Project Experience: Experience and familiarity with New York State Department of Transportation projects.
• Travel Requirements: Valid driver's license and ability/willingness to travel to field construction sites on a regular basis.
• OSHA Certification: OSHA 10 training certification, minimum.
