This role is responsible for providing critical support to surgical teams during procedures. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare for surgical procedures by pulling necessary instruments and supplies, ensuring their good working order, and reviewing case carts for accuracy.
- Anticipate the surgeon's needs, pass instruments, and retract tissue while maintaining aseptic technique and universal precautions.
- Ensure accurate surgeon preference cards and pick lists, and participate in OR turnover between cases.
- Assist with stocking, replenishing supplies, and cleaning operating rooms.
- Participate in training and orientation of surgical technology staff and students, as assigned.
- Provide business support to the department, including administrative tasks.
- Proficiency to scrub in a minimum of two surgical specialties.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
