Position Overview:

The Clinical Staff Pharmacist plays a pivotal role in delivering extensive pharmaceutical care to patients within the healthcare facility. This position involves supervising pharmacy technicians and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure the safe and effective administration of medications while maintaining optimal pharmacy operations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing and optimizing medication orders
  • Dispensing medications and providing therapy management
  • Counseling patients and reconciling medication lists
  • Offering drug information and managing adverse drug reactions
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives
  • Collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Engaging in ongoing professional development

Key Contributions:

As a Clinical Staff Pharmacist, you will:

  • Execute all pharmacist responsibilities and adhere to established protocols
  • Maintain proficiency in central pharmacy operations as required
  • Oversee the utilization of medication automation and technology
  • Manage medication inventories and prepare patient-specific doses
  • Accurately dispense medications, including compounding and intravenous preparations
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians, residents, and interns, ensuring task delegation and compliance with policies
  • Ensure continuity of care across shifts and pharmacy practice areas

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited institution
  • Current pharmacist licensure in the state of Georgia
