Overview
The Tax Compliance Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing tax reporting and adherence within the organization. This position encompasses the planning, preparation, examination, and submission of all federal, state, local, personal property, sales, and use tax returns. This description aims to provide essential insights into the responsibilities of the Tax Compliance Manager and is not intended to be an exhaustive list of skills, efforts, duties, responsibilities, or working conditions associated with the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review federal and state income/franchise tax filings.
- Develop ASC740 Federal and State Quarterly Tax Provisions.
- Maintain corporate tax controls effectively.
- Review sales tax and personal property tax returns.
- Conduct tax research projects for management review.
- Assist with budget analysis and completion.
- Research international tax issues and collaborate with international consultants.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Exhibit strong organizational skills and proficiency in computer applications.
- Advise management on the implications of business activities on taxes and strategies for minimizing tax liabilities.
- Ensure compliance with periodic tax payments, information reporting, and other regulatory requirements.
- Supervise external tax service providers.
- Prepare and review technical tax memoranda.
- Manage, develop, and mentor team members on projects, providing performance assessments through formal reviews and informal feedback.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- 8-10 years of experience in tax-related roles.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP) and financial software applications (OneSource – Income Tax, Provision, and Property Tax).
- Ability to identify problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Proficient in interpreting complex documents and responding effectively to sensitive inquiries.
- Strong mathematical skills, including advanced concepts and statistical analysis.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management capabilities.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.

Work Environment:
Office setting with the option to alternate between sitting and standing. Responsibilities include extensive keyboarding on a computer.
