About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Nuclear Physicist to join our Digital Solutions Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and evaluating new design concepts, supporting the execution of detailed design, and rapidly resolving technical challenges in production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and evaluate new design concepts for radiation detection systems
  • Support the execution of detailed design and development of detector technology roadmaps
  • Rapidly resolve technical challenges in production and provide guidance on nuclear physics aspects of detector design, operation, and troubleshooting
  • Provide guidance on development of nuclear detector test processes and collaborate with project teams on the evaluation of advanced physics concepts
  • Work with a wide variety of colleagues with varying backgrounds across Reuter-Stokes and Baker Hughes on multi-physics research to solve difficult problems
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in physics or nuclear engineering or any other related field
  • At least a master's degree in physics or Nuclear Engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years of technical work experience or a combination of master's degree and work experience
  • Technical experience in nuclear physics, solid state physics, optics, radiation detection is highly desirable
  • Success with basic and applied research to support new radiation detector development
  • Experience with a formal problem-solving methodology such as Shainin, Six Sigma, or TapRoot is preferred
  • Experience with computational modelling tools such as ANSYS Maxwell, ZEMAX, MCNP, GEANT4, and Garfield++ (cloud hosted supercomputing preferred)
