Job Summary

Career Opportunity: Maintenance Worker

Comprehensive Community Action (CCAP) is seeking a skilled Maintenance Worker to join our team. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and repair of our properties, ensuring they meet safety and functionality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including painting, plumbing, electrical work, and other related activities.
  • Requisition tools, equipment, and supplies as needed.
  • Notify management of the need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilation equipment.
  • Clean snow and debris from sidewalks and parking lots.
  • Maintain playgrounds and parking lots, ensuring they are clear of debris and safety hazards.
  • Transport small equipment or tools between departments.
  • Interact with company vendors and ensure that all facilities are well-maintained.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Familiarity with basic tools, plumbing, electrical systems, and general repair work.
  • Previous experience in maintenance, repair, or a related field is beneficial.
  • Ability to identify issues and perform tasks accurately.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with safety protocols.
  • Valid driver's license and proof of liability insurance.
  • Provide/maintain all required immunizations and/or vaccinations.
  • Complete all required background checks.

The employee frequently is required to use hands, fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Custodian work often involves lifting, bending, climbing, and standing for extended periods. Ability to showcase a level of strength and stamina. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The environment is a clinical business office environment. Potential exposure to blood-borne pathogens, respiratory diseases, and other infectious diseases, and other biohazardous material requiring universal standard precautions. Transportation is necessary and a valid driver's license and proof of vehicle insurance.
