We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at Denver Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examinations at a technical level not requiring constant supervision.
Key Responsibilities- Perform high-quality MRI imaging studies by selecting specific software parameters that will produce a quality image for use by physicians in their determination of a diagnosis.
- Effectively interact with our electronic health record system through compliance with data entry, image post-processing, image archiving tasks, image quality assurance, and other related user interface activities.
- Prepare and administer contrast media for patient examinations according to radiologists' direction.
- Screen patients, Denver Health employees, and visitors to ensure the safety of those individuals undergoing an MRI examination.
- Ensure patient safety, comfort, and personal dignity by following appropriate patient care guidelines.
- Assist in the maintenance of department inventory by ordering, stocking, and performing inventory checks on medical supplies utilized when performing MRI examinations.
- Verify the physician order and relevant patient's history in our electronic health record system.
- Scan all relevant clinical information into our electronic health record system and transmit current and comparison images to the system.
- Maintain imaging equipment by performing scheduled cleanings and tests, and document the results.
- Notate pertinent patient information in the electronic health record system.
- Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology or related field.
- Completion of a radiologic technology program approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Two years of professional work experience in performing radiographic procedures, including six months of experience in undertaking MRI imaging studies.
- BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification from the American Heart Association.
- RTR-RT Radiography certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
- Demonstrated knowledge in how to operate MRI equipment and related technology.
- Knowledge of how to address age-specific care needs of patients.
- Demonstrated technical skill sets in the performance of MRI studies.
- Demonstrable interpersonal skill sets that lead to effective communication and collaborations.
- Competency in interpreting physician order requests for MRI imaging studies.
- Ability to exercise prudent judgment in selecting and configuring equipment settings to compensate for patient physiologic variances.
- Ability to consistently produce quality images of various anatomical structures.
