The estimated salary for this position is around $55,000-$65,000 per year, depending on experience and location.

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Dental Assistant to help surgeons during surgeries by performing various duties such as tissue retraction, intravenous lines, and completing documentation. The successful candidate will be responsible for preoperative and postoperative duties to facilitate patient care, verifying patient identity, discussing surgical procedures with the surgeon, and maintaining aseptic technique throughout procedures.

  • Perform preoperative and postoperative duties to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Verify patient identity and operative sites.
  • Discuss surgical procedures with the surgeon, including consent and methods of exposure.
  • Maintain aseptic technique throughout procedures.
  • Ensure an unobstructed operative field using surgical retractors, sponges, and suctioning equipment.
  • Determine availability of necessary equipment and supplies.
  • Obtain and inspect sterile and non-sterile equipment and instruments.
  • Operate sterilization devices.
  • Monitor patient status during procedures.
  • Take dental radiographs and images.
  • Complete patient clinical narratives.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have a High School diploma or equivalent, BLS certification, at least one year of related experience, and certifications such as DAANCE, licensed dental assistant, or radiology certification.

  • Good judgment and critical thinking skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
  • Excellent listening skills.
  • Basic medical terminology knowledge.
