We are seeking a skilled Pump Mechanic to join our team at Compass Group Careers. As a Pump Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing a variety of skilled maintenance duties related to the facility's engineering and maintenance functions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, carry out, and evaluate preventive maintenance schedules for all designated mechanical equipment.
  • Inspect, diagnose, and perform major and minor repair work on pumps and related equipment.
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on pumps.
  • Coordinate with electricians to replace pump motors as required.
  • Repair wastewater lift stations, storm drain stations, and water transfer pumps.
  • Operate a variety of diagnostic instruments and a variety of hand, electric, and air-driven tools.
  • Test, troubleshoot, service, and repair mechanical equipment.
  • Inspect, adjust, and replace necessary units and related parts in the performance of repair and maintenance work.
  • Fabricate and modify parts and equipment as necessary.
  • Evaluate the status of mechanical equipment and perform or schedule needed repairs.
  • Conduct various analyses and inspections of mechanical systems to determine the most cost-effective means of maintenance, repair, or replacement.
  • Initiate and purchase equipment, parts, and supplies used for mechanical system maintenance in compliance with departmental and City procedures.
  • Provide emergency field assistance to disabled equipment as needed and appropriate.
  • Assist in the preparation of bid specifications for mechanical equipment.
  • Assist in the preparation and administration of mechanical budgets in conformance with adopted policies and procedures.
  • Maintain records, prepare reports, and other specialized maintenance records of equipment and mechanical equipment.
Requirements:
  • Five years of experience as a water pump technician or similar role.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, specifications, and models to learn work layout.
