Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Dump Truck Driver to join our team at Shirley Contracting Company, LLC. As a key member of our transportation team, you will be responsible for safely operating commercial vehicles and heavy equipment to transport materials and equipment to various job sites.

Responsibilities
  • Safely operate commercial vehicles and heavy equipment, including dump trucks, in a variety of situations, such as heavy traffic, construction sites, and tight areas within Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia.
  • Complete daily pre- and post-trip inspections and maintain inspection reports.
  • Maintain daily mileage and fuel dispense logs.
  • Refuel heavy equipment using diesel fuel.
  • Daily greasing of all heavy equipment wear parts and grease fittings.
  • Fluid top-offs as needed.
  • Maintain assigned vehicle(s) to a high standard of cleanliness.
  • Ensure the company's health and safety culture, policies, and requirements are met.
  • Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with co-workers.
Requirements
  • Class B CDL (minimum).
  • Manual Transmission, preferred.
  • Clean Driving Record (No major traffic violations, tickets, or accidents for the last 5 years).
  • Must pass pre-employment DOT physical/drug screening.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted on a regular basis.
  • Must be willing to perform manual labor-related tasks to support projects.
  • Ability to pass background checks for secure facility access.
