Job Summary:
The 1st floor is a 26-bed general medical surgical nursing unit that cares for adult to geriatric patients. This unit is part of the new south tower at Piedmont Newnan Hospital, which provides a state-of-the-art environment for patient care. As a Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for managing the care of acute medical surgical patients with a wide range of diagnoses and care needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinates the delivery of quality nursing care for patients from birth through the lifecycle, as well as operational issues during their shift.
- Provides clinical care as needed when census demands.
- Communicates patient care, departmental issues, and staff concerns to the appropriate leader(s).
- Serves as a resource for guidance and assistance to the staff.
Requirements:
- Graduate of a nursing program.
- One year of nursing experience in a hospital setting required.
- Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License.
- BLS certification required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two or more years of nursing experience in a hospital setting.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Advanced certification in the field of specialty, if applicable.
- Demonstrated clinical competency.
