At 3M, we're looking for a skilled Millwright Mechanic to join our team. As a Millwright Mechanic, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of people, technologies, and products, and collaborate with other 3Mers to achieve our goals.
The Impact You'll Make in this RoleAs a Millwright Mechanic, you will be responsible for:
- Setting up, operating, and reading precision testing and measuring instruments to ensure accuracy.
- Troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment malfunctions, and making repairs or adjustments as needed.
- Moving material, equipment, and machinery using standard methods of lifting, rigging, hosting, blocking, skidding, and rolling.
- Installing equipment and machinery according to layout plans, prints, or drawings, using standard methods of leveling, tramming, and precision alignment.
- Assembling, fitting, and aligning machinery and equipment using hand tools, precision measuring instruments, tramming equipment, and machine tools.
- Completing required shop paperwork and using reporting systems following established procedures.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A satisfactory completion of a formal apprenticeship type training program of not less than four years or 8,000 hours in the Millwright Mechanic Craft Skill area.
- Five years' work experience as a millwright mechanic, or a combination of formal apprenticeship type training program and work experience in the Millwright Mechanic Craft Skill area.
- Ability to pass the pre-employment Skilled Trades Test Battery.
- Appropriate driver's license and pass Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.
Preference will be given to applicants trained and experienced in the installation and alignment and/or troubleshooting and repair of heavy production machinery.
Pay & BenefitsThe starting rate of pay for this position is $43.97, with the potential to reach $ This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
