Estimator - Heavy Construction Specialist

At Durr Heavy Construction, we are seeking a skilled Estimator to join our team. As an Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing cost estimates for private and public projects, including commercial, industrial, and municipal projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare cost estimates for projects, including labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors.
- Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and vendors to ensure competitive pricing.
- Participate in pre-bidding decision-making efforts, reviewing drawings and specifications, and gathering information related to site access and surface topography.
- Develop a detailed and organized cost estimate for the entire project, including costs of labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors, overhead, taxes, insurance, and markup.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and enter relevant information into HCSS.
- Submit 100% of bids and budgets by the bid deadline.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- 5-7 years of experience as an Estimator in the construction industry, with a focus on heavy construction.
- Proficient with commercial estimating software, i.e. HCSS, and construction scheduling software.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to maintain professionalism under pressure and coordinate numerous activities.
