Principal Architect for Cloud Infrastructure
This role is essential in enhancing the capabilities of the Department of Defense Cyber Crime Center (DC3) as a Principal Architect for Cloud Infrastructure. The primary objective is to facilitate the transition of critical workloads to cloud environments while ensuring the secure handling of sensitive data. Key responsibilities encompass contributing to the overall architecture, maintaining comprehensive technical documentation, and advising team members on secure coding methodologies. Additionally, this position involves spearheading the deployment of cloud management solutions, assessing their effectiveness, and improving their functionalities.
- Develop security-focused Azure enterprise architectures, enterprise systems, and service-oriented designs.
- Oversee comprehensive cloud migration project strategies.
- Deliver technical and business insights during cloud strategy discussions, technology architecture, deployments, migrations, and portfolio management.
- Design and execute PaaS/IaaS services, frameworks, and deployment techniques utilizing containerization, database-as-a-service, storage, and infrastructure automation.
- Provide expertise in the architecture and design of services and systems to support client applications and security measures.
- Engage in technical project review sessions to ensure designs align with operational requirements and security protocols.
- Instruct stakeholders and engineering teams on effective cloud solutions and industry best practices.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 12 years of experience with a BS/BA, 10 years with an MS/MA, or 7 years with a PhD.
- At least 3 years of experience in Microsoft Azure Government.
- Expertise in designing flexible, scalable, and highly available systems architecture.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, AKS, EKS).
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (TerraForm, ARM templates, CloudFormation templates).
- Knowledge of DevOps concepts and tools (GitLab, JIRA, Maven, Jenkins, Chef, Ansible).
- Possession of one or more Cloud Certifications: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Administrator Associate, AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional/Associate.
- Understanding of DoD IT processes, regulations, and current IT cloud initiatives.
- Active Secret clearance (TS/SCI preferred).

Target Salary Range
$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
