PBF Energy Inc. is a leading independent refiner in North America, operating through its subsidiaries in the oil refining sector. We are currently seeking a skilled Process Controls Engineer to play a crucial role in our operations.
Job Summary:
The primary responsibility of the Process Controls Engineer is to implement, configure, and maintain both basic and advanced process control systems. This includes supporting regulatory applications on the Honeywell TDC and Experion platforms, as well as multivariable applications utilizing the AspenTech DMC platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize the Honeywell TDC Distributed Control System (DCS) and Experion platforms, alongside advanced engineering applications such as AspenTech's DMC.
- Develop and support basic process control applications through control engineering skills, including point configuration, loop tuning, and control logic development.
- Maintain and enhance existing process control applications and operator interfaces.
- Identify and design new control schemes to improve process safety, optimization, and reliability.
- Review instrumentation specifications and propose control improvements.
- Investigate equipment failures and recommend enhancements to improve system reliability.
- Provide technical support for the plant's instrumentation systems, including low voltage electrical control systems and some PLCs.
- Support process control during project development, execution, and startup phases.
- Communicate regularly with Operations, Technical, Inspection, and Maintenance teams.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or operational environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with AspenTech DMC process control software.
- Experience with Honeywell process control systems and engineering applications.
- Knowledge of Triconex and Modicon PLC Systems.
- Understanding of industry standards such as API, NFPA, NEC, IEEE, ASME, ANSI, and ASCE.
