Diesel Fleet Mechanic at US Foods, Inc.
This role is responsible for diagnosing and repairing diesel equipment including tractors and trailers. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to perform preventative maintenance while complying with safety regulations. This position offers a competitive salary of $32.05 per hour along with additional benefits and incentives such as a $15,000 retention bonus.
About the Role:
The Diesel Fleet Mechanic is responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing diesel equipment. Key responsibilities include performing preventative maintenance, completing documentation of all repair orders, PM list and parts accountability, handling road service calls, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Requirements:
Must have (3) years of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy duty commercial diesel mechanic or reefer mechanic or a combination of both; or (2) years verifiable hands-on experience with either Diesel Mechanic Certification or TK/Carrier Refrigeration Certification or both. Diagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to equipment repairs, successfully demonstrated independent analytical and problem-solving skills, prior experience in administering appropriate PM program, must furnish own personal hand tools, CDL A and DOT certified preferred.
Benefits and Salary:
The expected base rate for this role is $32.05 per hour. This role is eligible for overtime compensation, retention bonus, certification premium, CDL premium. Benefits for this role may include health insurance, pre-tax spending accounts, retirement benefits, paid time off, short-term and long-term disability, employee stock purchase plan, and life insurance. Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law.
