The Physical Therapist is a key member of the Altru Health team, responsible for evaluating and treating inpatient hospital and inpatient rehabilitation patients. This role requires a strong understanding of physical therapy principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Evaluation and Treatment: Conduct thorough evaluations of patients to identify their physical therapy needs and develop effective treatment plans.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and effective discharge planning.
- Patient Education and Support: Provide patients and their families with education and support to promote optimal physical function and independence.
- Treatment Planning and Implementation: Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, incorporating evidence-based practices and patient-centered care.
- Documentation and Communication: Accurately document patient progress and communicate effectively with healthcare teams to ensure seamless care transitions.
- Physical Therapist Licensure: Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state of North Dakota.
- Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy or related field, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in inpatient physical therapy.
- Certifications and Training: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, with completion of additional training as required by Altru Health.
This role requires frequent standing, walking, and lifting, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The Physical Therapist must be able to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams, and demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care.
