Job Title: Pharmacy Trainee at Great Lakes Integrated Network, Inc.

Position Overview: Great Lakes Integrated Network, Inc. is seeking a pharmacy trainee to assist the pharmacy division with a variety of responsibilities, including quality assessment, addressing medication-related care gaps, patient education, and therapeutic interventions under the guidance of a licensed pharmacist.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support quality incentive initiatives aimed at improving performance in payer contracts, which includes:
    • Providing adherence counseling to patients
    • Conducting medication-related chart evaluations
    • Recommending adjustments to therapies for optimal patient outcomes
    • Counseling patients regarding medication modifications
  • Conduct comprehensive medication therapy reviews to identify intervention opportunities
  • Create drug information newsletters for network healthcare providers
  • Assist with inquiries related to drug information
  • Help in monitoring team performance metrics
  • Carry out other assigned tasks as needed

Qualifications:

Education: Must have completed at least one year of pharmacy education and hold an active NYS Pharmacist Intern license.

Experience: A minimum of one year of prior experience in a community pharmacy setting is preferred.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to apply clinical guidelines for patient recommendations and counseling
  • Basic knowledge of HEDIS and STAR measures is advantageous
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective collaboration and teamwork abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks

This position provides a valuable internship experience with a hybrid work model that includes both onsite and remote work. Flexible weekly hours are available, with up to 40 hours during breaks and 8-10 hours per week while attending school.

Hourly compensation ranges from $15.00 to $22.00, depending on qualifications.
