Position Overview

We are in search of a talented and driven Senior Financial Analyst to enhance our finance operations. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in defining the financial direction of our organization. Your responsibilities will include analyzing financial data, predicting future performance, and delivering actionable insights to aid in strategic decision-making. This position offers a unique chance to influence the financial stability and expansion of a growing enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A): Create and sustain financial models to project business outcomes. Offer comprehensive analysis and insights into financial metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the annual budgeting cycle and quarterly forecasts. Monitor performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying discrepancies and suggesting improvements.
  • Financial Reporting: Compile and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to senior leadership and stakeholders. Ensure the precision and promptness of all financial information.
  • Strategic Analysis: Perform ad-hoc financial assessments to support strategic projects, including market growth, product innovation, and mergers and acquisitions.
  • Investment Evaluation: Assess potential investment prospects and capital initiatives. Provide financial insights to guide investment choices.
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Collaborate closely with various departments, including Business Development, Marketing, Operations, Technology, and Product Management, to align financial objectives with broader business goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience with 5+ years in a quantitative role.
  • 3+ years of experience in tax, finance, or a related analytical field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of involvement in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance controllership with measurable outcomes.
  • MBA or CPA certification.
  • Proficiency in Tableau.
  • Experience with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
  • 2+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) in analyses.
  • 2+ years of experience in process improvements through automation and analysis.
  • Advanced SQL skills for data mining and business intelligence.

Our compensation reflects the labor costs across various US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is influenced by several factors, including market location and may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon offers a comprehensive compensation package that may include equity, sign-on bonuses, and a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
