Austin, Texas, United States South Region OPS Med Groups Full time

South Region OPS Med Groups is seeking a highly skilled nurse practitioner or physician assistant to join our team in Austin, TX.

As a member of our care delivery team, you will be an integral part of our vision to make healthcare better for everyone.

At South Region OPS Med Groups, you will have the clinical resources, data, and support of a global organization behind you so you can help your patients live healthier lives. Here, you will work alongside talented peers in a collaborative environment that is guided by diversity and inclusion while driving towards the Quadruple Aim. We believe you deserve an exceptional career, and we will empower you to live your best life at work and at home.

Position Highlights:

  • Practice with a multi-disciplinary team of healthcare providers that includes primary care physicians, RN case managers, social workers, and clinic staff.
  • Our model is designed to provide the most efficient, comprehensive, and proven care techniques to treat the whole patient – physically, mentally, and socially – at each visit.
  • Primarily manage care in the patient's home; however, care may require an office or other facility setting depending on the needs of the patient.
  • Provide care for some of our sickest patients – patients whose needs are beyond what our care management and clinic-based resources can provide, but whom hospice services are not appropriate.
  • Diagnose and treat both acute and chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, kidney disease, and other chronic medical conditions.
  • Treat acute conditions such as minor injuries and other acute medical conditions such as infections or exacerbations of chronic diseases.
  • Facilitate patient and family decision making regarding treatment decisions, end-of-life care, and serious illness discussions.
  • Prescribe pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions.

What makes South Region OPS Med Groups different?

  • We are a clinician-led care organization that is changing the way clinicians work and live.
  • We believe that better care for clinicians equates to better care for patients.
  • We are influencing change collectively on a national scale while still maintaining the culture and community of our local care organizations.
  • We grow talent from within. No matter where you want to go – geographically or professionally – you can do it here.

Compensation/Benefits Highlights:

  • Base salary plus annual quality incentive bonus.
  • Optum Care Advanced Provider Clinician Partnership Plan.
  • 401(k) with match and UHG Employee Stock Purchase Program.
  • 160 hours of PTO, 40 hours CME, and clinics are closed for 8 national holidays.
  • Comprehensive benefits from Optum Partner Services.

At South Region OPS Med Groups, we are committed to making healthcare better for everyone. We are a network of doctors, specialists, and other medical professionals that specialize in providing care for more than 1 million older adults with over 16,000 doctors' offices. Our focus is simple: we're innovators in preventative healthcare, striving to change the face of healthcare for seniors.

Required Qualifications:

  • Certification through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), or the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Current licensure through the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners or licensed physician assistant by the Texas State Medical Board, or the ability to obtain one prior to employment.
  • Valid DEA license or the ability to obtain one prior to employment.
  • 1+ year of clinical experience as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant.
  • Comfortable managing a primarily Medicare-aged patient population.
  • Reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Home health experience.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) fluency.
  • A working understanding and support of a managed care environment.

Diversity creates a healthier atmosphere: South Region OPS Med Groups is an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, protected veteran status, disability status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, marital status, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by law.
