Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Holiday Inn Express & Suites Wylie West in Wylie, TX. As a key member of our 14-person strong team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and comfort of our hotel guests and employees, while also maintaining compliance with all Brand and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the daily activities of the maintenance department, planning and organizing work to ensure proper coverage and effective communication with team members.
  • Recommend and initiate staffing actions, including salary and disciplinary measures, in accordance with Company rules and policies.
  • Ensure all staff is properly trained and equipped to perform their job duties, with a focus on safety and compliance.
  • Maintain and repair hotel facilities, including buildings, rooms, laundry and kitchen equipment, lighting, HVAC, and water treatment systems.
  • Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program to ensure the hotel's facilities are well-maintained and meet Brand standards.
  • Monitor budget and control expenses within the maintenance department, participating in the preparation of the annual operating budget and financial plans.
  • Establish procedures to ensure the security of inventory and assets, and to minimize waste.
  • Respond to guest questions, complaints, and requests in a courteous and prompt manner, ensuring high levels of guest satisfaction.
  • Work with corporate product managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure timely completion of projects within budget and establish future maintenance commitments.
  • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.
Requirements
  • Experience working in maintenance, with a focus on plumbing and electrical systems.
  • Ability to learn new skills quickly and use hand and mechanical tools to ensure safety and completion of tasks.
