Meritus Health is seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our Wound Care Center and Trauma Acute Care Service line.
This role requires a professional with extensive clinical competence and expertise in delivering care and integrating patient services to achieve specific clinical, financial, and satisfaction outcomes for specific patient populations and disease processes.
The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to work well with all disciplines at all levels, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong organizational skills.
The Wound Center treats all types of wounds, including acute traumatic wounds, chronic and complex wounds, pressure ulcers, venous ulcers associated with edema, diabetic foot ulcers, post-operative wound dehiscence, and advanced treatment modalities such as TCC, wound vac, PICO vacs, and cellular-based tissue products.
The Trauma team's skills set includes a mix of trauma and emergency general surgery admissions and consults, rounding on patients, coordinating effective discharges, central lines, and chest tubes.
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience - Wound and Trauma experience is required.
Education – completion of Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) program Doctorate Degree in Nursing Preferred. Completion of a Certified Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant program required.
Licensure/Certification - License to practice as Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the State of Maryland required. Current DEA Registration and CDS permit required. Current BLS (CPR) in compliance with policy required. ACLS in compliance with policy required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities - Demonstrates critical thinking, extensive clinical competence and expertise. Demonstrated ability to work well with all disciplines at all levels. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills. Fluency in coding, ICD-10 and CPT, or commitment to acquire.
