About Our Division :
Defense Electronic Systems – Fuzing & Ordnance Systems (DES-FOS), a division of L3Harris Technologies, provides precision electronic components, subsystems, and systems for DoD and international allies.
L3Harris FOS specializes in the design and manufacture of fuzes, ignition safety devices, proximity sensors, GPS navigation systems, aerospace status indicators and range and test solutions.
Headquartered in Batavia, OH (greater Cincinnati area), L3Harris FOS' primary manufacturing facility was specifically designed and constructed for the manufacture of fuzing and ordnance systems and precision electronic components.
The Batavia location has flexible manufacturing - capable of manufacturing a variety of products down to individual production units for development efforts, dual identical modern Surface Mount Technology (SMT) assembly lines for automated electronic manufacture, and on-site inspection and test capabilities to perform all required environmental conditioning test procedures.

Job Description:
This Electrical Engineering position is in a fast-paced and dynamic environment requiring tasking flexibility to meet ever-changing customer objectives.
Essential Functions:
Analog and digital design of ruggedized electronics for ordnance applications.
Circuit tolerance analyses using hand calculations and Spice tools
Requirements development, refinement, and compliance.
Generate test plans and test reports related to product performance (Brassboard, Design Verification, Qualification, Firing Properties, etc.)
Perform test activities in all phases of product development cycle.
Assist in failure investigations using structured tools (8D, Fishbone, Cause & Effect, etc.).
Generate material for design reviews for all phases of the product development cycle.
Generate Engineering Orders (EOs) and Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs)
Multi-task across several projects simultaneously
Ability to obtain a government-issued, Secret level clearance if needed in the future.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and minimum of 4 years of prior engineering experience or Graduate/Master's Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
3+ years of experience designing with basic analog building blocks including differential amplifiers, op amps, LDOs, filters, and data converters
3+ years of experience designing with basic digital building blocks including logic gates, flip flops, timers, and filters
2+ years of experience with power supply and power conditioning design
2+ years of experience with power conversion concepts (AC/DC, DC/DC, and DC/AC, Linear and Switching Supplies)
2+ years of experience with serial communication buses including UART, SPI, and I2C
2+ years of experience with Temperature sensors, MEMs accelerometers, differential pressure sensors, and GYROs
2+ years of experience with general design best practices (e.g. EMI suppression, ESD protection, and Short circuit protection)
3+ years of experience with module design including component selection, circuit analysis, circuit design, and layout
3+ years of experience in troubleshooting using standard lab equipment (oscilloscopes, function generators, meters, etc.)
3+ years of experience with modeling and simulation utilities (LTSpice, MATLAB/Simulink, etc.)
3+ years of experience with schematic capture and/or board layout utilities (Altium, PADS, etc.)
3+ years of experience in creating Technical Documentation (Test Plans, Test Reports, Drawings, etc.)
2+ years of experience with Root Cause analysis
Preferred Additional Skills:
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field with 4+ years of directly related experience is highly preferred.
2+ years of experience presenting ESAD/ESAF/ISD designs to the Safety Review Boards (AFSRB, FISTRP, NNMSB)
2+ years of experience energetic materials interfacing/testing (EFDIs, LEEFIs, Lead Charges, Boosters).
2+ years of design for extreme environments (Vibration, Shock, Temperature, Temperature & Humidity)
Team Player with excellent communication skills to work effectively across different engineering disciplines.
3+ years of experience lead a large-scale technical project from start to completion with minimal guidance
3+ years of experience in preparing and participating in design reviews (internal and external)
