Medical Assistant Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team at the Colusa Indian Community Council. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support services to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare patients for medical exams, taking vital signs and symptom history.
- Observe and document patients' physical, psychosocial, and cultural needs and response to care plans.
- Assist physicians with planning and communicating with other professionals involved in patient care.
- Provide competent support services, including specimen collections, CLIA waived tests, blood draws, immunizations, and other tasks as directed by the treating physician.
- Act as a translator for medical providers when needed.
- Document services provided in medical records and complete required billing/reporting systems.
- Provide patient and family members with educational materials as directed by physicians.
- Maintain medical records according to policy/procedure and regulatory standards.
- Perform scheduled clinic QA audits as assigned.
- Cross-train to perform medical receptionist duties.
- Assist the management team with developing operational policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with all coworkers to provide patient-focused services that meet all regulatory and licensing standards.
- Experience: Six (6) months of experience working in a similar setting.
- Licensing: Medical Assistant certification from an accredited school.
- Current CPR/First Aid Certificate.
- Bilingual preferred.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule and be willing to work additional hours if needed for the provision of quality patient care.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task.
- Flexibility and ability to assist others when needed.
- Must have good interpersonal skills with a large range of personality types.
- Must be extensively computer literate and have a broad-based knowledge of computer programs and software.
- Strong attention to detail and note-taking skills.
- Is tactful, poised, pleasant, and diplomatic, exhibiting a positive, professional demeanor to peers, patients, physicians, and visitors.
The work environment is well-lit, ventilated, and temperature-controlled. The noise level is usually low to moderate. The incumbent routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, and fax machines.
